What is going on at MESAU?

Student Activities

A students' Invention from african herbs: Two African students who created a malaria-repellant soap using local herbs, and have won a $25,000 Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) award.

Afya Bora Fellowship in Global Health Leadership

The Afya Bora Fellowship in Global Health Leadership provides trainees with a set of practical skills that will prepare them for leadership positions in government, nongovernment, and academic health institutions in  developing countries.
Some of the African MEPI Schools (Nairobi University College of Health Sciences, Makerere University College of Health Sciences, University of Botswana) are participating in this program

A major activity at all MESAU institutions is support for Community Based Education, Research  and Service (COBERS).   Each of the MESAU institutions has many off- campus community sites where students spend  periods of time working with communities and lower level health facilities. Makerere University College of Health Sciences has a number of resources that are used to implement COBERS. For more information about how this training approach is implemented, the benefits and outcomes, read  the uploaded documents below.
